Nanyang Technological University’s Digital Trust Centre (DTC) is looking for a Principal Research Engineer to research, design, develop, implement, and oversee techniques and systems platform related to Trust Technologies, which mainly cover three main areas: (i) privacy preserving AI, (ii) digital identity and decentralization, and (iii) AI safety. Privacy preserving technologies involved include homomorphic encryption, multi-party computation, searchable encryption, data synthesis and differential privacy, and federated learning. Decentralization technologies covered include blockchain, digital identity, distributed ledger, trust execution environment, and verifiable computing. AI safety technologies covered include AI model testing, evaluation and benchmarking, risks in generative AI contents, Large Language Model, and NLP.
The role will focus on emerging technologies that engender trust and espouse its values in digital technologies.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research into trust technologies testing – translating research algorithms, and design/develop tools and frameworks into working prototypes that can explain how research outputs can be productised into new capabilities.

Work closely with Centre’s researchers to design and develop system implementation work from research into product.

Design and build working tools that can support technology transfer of new research capabilities to practical solution capabilities that can be used to showcase the value of a given research outcome.

Write and maintain technical documentation, presentations, and papers on research into trust technologies testing, help to educate and raise the overall competency of Singapore manpower in emerging areas of trust technologies.

Engage global partners and researchers to understand latest trends and advance Singapore’s mindshare in this domain.

Responsible for the system and architecture design of trust solutions for digital transformation in addition to their engineering and implementation.
Job Requirements:

The candidate should possess a Masters’ degree in computer science, software engineering, information theory or relevant field.

With a minimum of 15 industrial and academic years of experience in software engineering and system development.

Understand the emerging trends of IT technologies, in particular those related to privacy preserving and AI safety.

Good communication skill.
