Introduction
The Deanship of CORE Curriculum offers a broad range of core academic courses that are available to meet the specific needs of individual degree programs. All students are required to successfully complete courses in each of three College CORE fields: natural and physical sciences, mathematics, and social and behavioral sciences.
The CORE Curriculum is a set of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, mathematics and Assessment Capstone competencies that help our students develop and grow as lifelong learners. The ultimate goal of the Core Curriculum Program is to empower our students with the rational thinking that enables them to consider what it is like to act and think as researchers, historians, businessmen, chemists, physicists, mathematicians and economists.
The Deanship of CORE Curriculum is committed to working towards achieving the goals articulated in Saudi Vision 2030. Our students expect to be globally competent and empowered with the communication, technological and critical thinking skills that the job market needs. Therefore, integral to the CORE Curriculum are the global competencies that today’s business sector requires. The CORE Curriculum, with its two departments centralizes six defining competencies which are integral to its courses: Communication, Technology, Critical Thinking, Professional Development, Teamwork and Leadership.
General Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry specializing in Analytical Chemistry. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of teaching experience at the university level and a strong research background in analytical chemistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, conducting innovative research, and contributing to the overall academic mission of the department.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
- Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus on Analytical Chemistry or closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the college or university level, with a demonstrated record of excellence in instruction.
- Proven research background in analytical chemistry with a history of publications in respected journals.
- Strong potential for securing external research funding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching:
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate-level courses in chemistry.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and teaching methods to enhance student learning.
- Engage in student advising and mentoring, guiding undergraduate students through academic and research endeavors.
- Participate in curriculum development and review within the chemistry division.
- Research:
- Lead a dynamic research program in analytical chemistry, with an emphasis on publishing in peer-reviewed journals and securing external funding.
- Collaborate with faculty, and students to advance research initiatives.
- Foster interdisciplinary research and partnerships with industry, governmental, and academic institutions.
- Service:
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees as needed.
- Participate in outreach and community engagement activities to promote the department and university programs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and strategic initiatives.
Remuneration and Benefits
