Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

 

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

 

Position Available: Research Fellow

 

Join the laboratory of Zhang Baile at SPMS. We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to a project focused on topological photonic devices. Both theoretical and experimental studies are required, as part of ongoing research effort in School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NTU to develop new knowledge and technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of topological photonic devices

  • Experimental study of topological and non-Hermitian photonic devices

  • Exploration of new topics in related areas

 

Job Requirements

  • A PhD degree in physics or related areas, with focus on photonic materials

  • At least 4 years of relevant experiences in photonic materials / technical hands-on experience in theoretical photonics

  • Familiarity with non-Hermitian physics

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders

  • Minimum 4 research publications in top journals
