The Stevens Technical Enrichment Program (STEP) is seeking to fill a Chemistry teaching position in its Bridge summer program (Monday June 27 - Friday, August 5).
Bridge is a six-weeks challenging summer program which helps the pre-freshmen participants begin their transition to Stevens; it introduces them to the academic realities of the Stevens undergraduate experience and helps them to begin developing academic, social, and other support networks.
A successful candidate will be required to develop a syllabus in the relevant subject area, which prepares the students for the respective Fall curriculum, and includes in-person lectures, homework assignments, regularly administered assessments (e.g., tests/quizzes/examinations, etc.) and when possible, a special research or project. They will be assigned at least two undergraduates who will be their in-class assistants, liaisons, and tutors.
The required textbook and other academic support material for the course will be identified by the corresponding academic department (e.g., Chemistry), and provided by STEP.
Bridge will host approximately 55 students who have been accepted to Stevens and will begin their matriculation in Fall 2022.
