  • I have been in the Gustafsson group since 1986. My background in Biochemistry and Pharmacology.
    During the late 1980s my interest was the cytochromes P450 in the brain. The Gustafsson lab was interested in the growth hormone and estrogen regulation of these enzymes. These research lines led us into the field of nuclear receptors. At the major focus of the Gustafsson group was Glucocorticoid receptor but this interest broadened quickly to cover the field of Orphan receptors, and to the discovery of estrogen receptor beta and Liver X receptor beta. I became interested in ER%u03B2 and LXR %u03B2 and we have been working together on the phenotypes of mice in which these receptors have been inactivated
