Her research interest revolves around the taxonomy and ecology of marine and freshwater algae. However, in the past few years she has ventured into the work involving the terrrestrial algae and the effect of atmospheric pollutants to microalgal community. Her works on environmental biology has been presented at the Committee of Air Pollution and Environmental Research (CAPER) for two consecutive years, in 2009 (York, England) and 2010 (Edinburgh, Scotland). Starting with the pioneering work conducted in Silwood Park in Berkshire, England, she pursue her passion in this field and presented her first outcome in Paris, France (2008). In 2011, she presented another outcome which concluded that high nitrogen deposition altered species composition and abundance of terrestrial macroalgae. The findings has been presented in Athens, Greece which gather some interest from other participants
