The main interest of our group is to discover enzymes or proteins that can be potentially exploited as antimicrobial drug targets or industrial biocatalysts. The proteins under investigation range from signaling proteins from pathogenic bacteria to enzymes from novel biosynthetic pathways. We employ a variety of biochemical, structural and chemical biology tools to probe the function and mechanism of the proteins. There are currently three on-going research projects.
