My research interest is the use of electrochemistry to address alternative energy options, particularly those related to fuel cell technology. We are working on new fuel cell technology involving alkaline exchange membranes, developing and characterizing new catalysts and fuels for use with such technology. We are 1) developing new catalysts, 2) studying new fuels, and 3) probing the chemistry which governs such catalysts and fuels. Our fuel cell technology has specific relevance to portable electronic devices such as wireless phones and laptop computers.
