Dr. Xining Yang was an assistant professor at California State University, Chico. He is now an assistant professor in the department of Geography and Geology at Eastern Michigan University starting September, 2016. His research interests are in spatio-temporal analysis, social media, volunteered geographic information (VGI) and web GIS. He received a BE from Wuhan University, China in 2008 and a MS from Eastern Michigan University in 2010. He received his Ph.D. in geography from Ohio State university in 2015. Dr. Yang has scientific publications in Applied Geography, ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, Sustainability, International Journal of Applied Geospatial Research and Urban Remote Sensing.
