Our group investigates the elementary steps of thermodynamic processes by developing thermal nano-imaging and spectroscopy techniques with spatio-temporal resolution down to the nanometer-femtosecond scale. Topics we are specifically interested in include: thermal energy transfer through atomic-/nanoscale junctions, vibrational relaxations in strongly-coupled molecular structures, thermalization bounds in hydrodynamic electron systems, topological heat currents, phononic control of quantum phases, dissipative structure formation in polariton fluids
