Dr. Sundqvist studies low-temperature condensed matter physics and electronics. He received his bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Washington, Seattle and his PhD in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to exploring nonequilibrium charge transport in sub-Kelvin semiconductors, he has developed SQUID-based parametric amplifiers intended for qubit readout by developing an understanding of their electrical impedance. He is presently setting up his lab at SDSU to continue his low-temperature instrumentation work.
