The Department of Mathematics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Campus, invites applications for a full-time non tenure-track assistant professor position to begin August 2019.The Department of Mathematics provides the mathematical foundation for Embry-Riddle’s degree programs, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computational Mathematics degree and two minors, Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics. The Mathematics department, housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, is focused on teaching excellence and has a strong emphasis on design and project-based learning. Candidates with experience in innovative teaching techniques will have an advantage. In keeping with Embry-Riddle’s hands-on approach to most disciplines, the Department of Mathematics emphasizes applications for mathematics in areas such as computing, fluid mechanics, and weather forecasting, and the work is often project-based. Collaboratively, the department’s students and faculty engage in a number of varied research areas.
