Position No. 00051114. The Department of Chemistry at Southern Methodist University (SMU) invites applications for the position of Chemistry Lecturer. A strong interest in inclusive teaching and interacting with our undergraduate students is essential. The focus of this position is on, but not limited to, teaching undergraduate general chemistry lectures and laboratories, and the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the labs. In addition, the successful candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills. Training is provided. This is an entry level non tenure track lecturer position. Promotion to Senior Lecturer is possible after 5 years. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds. Women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. The position begins in the fall of 2022, although training can begin sooner if the timing fits with the new lecturer’s schedule.

Preferred qualifications: Completed Ph.D. or M.S. degree in chemistry; experience in teaching undergraduate courses or experience as a teaching assistant (TA).
