The Post-Baccalaureate Program at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences seeks an instructor to teach a biochemistry course for a six-week summer enrichment session. The position will provide an overview of key concepts of biochemistry at the undergraduate level for a class of 20-25 students. The enrichment course is non-credit bearing and independent of courses offered as part of the regular academic curriculum of the University. Instructor must be able to utilize and/or update course content from the established curriculum. Specific responsibilities include:

  • develop and present course material in a manner that is inclusive for students from both science and non-science majors and that encourages all students’ participation
  • develop, administer and score pretest, class assignments, quizzes and post-test
  • return students’ work promptly with feedback
  • maintain student records (pre/post-testing data, assignment and quiz grades) using MS Excel
  • submit course materials (syllabus, lessons, class assignments, pre/post-tests, quizzes, answer sheets) and student grade reports to the Program Coordinator upon course conclusion.
