This is a limited term position ending June 30, 2021. This is a grant funded and is not eligible for severance pay.

The Department of Chemistry at Tufts University provides an exciting and intellectually stimulating environment for undergraduate and graduate students, not only to learn from the top notch faculty, but to also participate in cutting edge research projects that encompass the many diverse interests of the faculty and reflects the interdisciplinary nature of modern chemical research.

Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which may include protein expression and purification, biophysical assays, tissue culture, and peptide synthesis. Will also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and monitor and maintain cell culture lines. The Kritzer Lab at Tufts University Department of Chemistry seeks a motivated individual for a 1-2 year research technician position. Responsibilities will include maintaining instrumentation, peptide and small molecule synthesis, and may expand to include cell culture work. Some organic chemistry, protein biochemistry, and analytical chemistry lab experience (teaching or research lab) required. Start date for full-time work will be as soon as possible.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in science with 0 to 1 year of laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
Undergraduate-level coursework in organic chemistry, biochemistry, and bioanalytical chemistry.
May work with and be exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials, human/animal tissue and fluids.
