JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
A postdoctoral position is available in the Olsen Lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The trainees will contribute to NIH-funded biomedical research broadly focused on mammalian phospholipid biochemistry. The candidate will focus on mass spectrometry-based analysis of membrane lipids and their dynamics.
Postdoctoral Fellow: The desired applicant will have a PhD in biochemistry or related field with experience in mass spectrometry. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in lipid biochemistry or advanced mass spectrometry analysis. During the first year in the laboratory, the candidate will write individual postdoctoral fellowship applications to appropriate funding agencies. The candidate will be responsible for optimizing mass spectrometry protocols and developing analysis methods. Experience with C. elegans is preferred but not essential.
