Cell Biology – to teach courses in Cell and Molecular Biology, upper-level courses in Virology and/or Immunology, and possible additional courses in the applicant’s specialty. The position will help complement the growing courses in Human Biology and advance the Health Sciences program. The successful candidate will be a trained biologist in one (or combination) of the following areas: Cell Biology, Immunology, or Virology. The candidate’s research should utilize standard Molecular Biology, Immunology, Genetics, and Biochemical approaches as well as innovative approaches such as DNA analysis, mass spectrometry or confocal microscopy.
Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences (e.g. Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry or related fields) is required. Experience in mammalian cell culture and basic biology techniques including qPCR, RT-qPCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation, cloning, immunoprecipitation, fluorescence microscopy, and Western blotting and at least two publications in English Scientific Journals is also required. Experience in Virology, mass spectrometry, transcriptomics, CRISPR-Cas9, protein purification, and confocal microscopy is preferred. In addition, familiarity with computer languages and computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is also preferred.
