A postdoctoral position is available in the Chemical Kinetics and Laser Sensors Laboratory at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Candidates with experience in one or more of the following research areas are encouraged to apply:

(1) Non-linear optical methods
(2) Frequency-comb spectroscopy
(3) Absorption spectroscopy

The project is aimed at developing spectrometer in the mid-IR range for application to fast chemical processes. The work will be carried out collaboratively among KAUST, Politecnico di Milano, and Laval University. The post-doctoral fellow will be expected to share his time at the three institutes. Postdoctoral Fellowship is initially offered for 1 or 2 years. Depending on the performance, extension up to three years is possible.

Qualifications
Successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a related field with experience in one or more of the aforementioned areas of research.

  • The Chemical Kinetics and Laser Sensors Laboratory (http://kinetics.kaust.edu.sa) carries out research in the areas of energy, chemical kinetics, spectroscopy and laser diagnostics. We focus on the development of advanced experimental techniques and apply these to understand fundamental processes in traditional and renewable energy-conversion devices. Our group develops laser-based sensors for applications to chemistry, environmental-monitoring and biomedical.
