Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, Department of Aeronautics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the aviation cybersecurity field. Experience with aviation/aerospace electronic systems, cyberspace principles, cybersecurity, network analysis, data/behavior analytics, smart technologies, or Internet of Things (IoT). This is a fulltime 10-month faculty position responsible for teaching classes at various campuses in different modalities. It may also include evaluating/mentoring adjunct faculty at one of our Worldwide campus locations. As an academic appointment with faculty rank, this position includes teaching, scholarship, and university service as the primary responsibilities. A requirement of this position is to teach an annual course load of 24 semester hours (normally 8 courses), and engage in University, College, and Department activities. The individual will work from a home office and will be required to attend all Department, College, and Worldwide meetings. An additional requirement is to become proficient in the distance learning modalities utilized by the University including EagleVision Classroom, EagleVision Home, online, and blended. The individual may teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and must be willing to travel on occasion to attend meetings and teach classes. The Assistant Professor will assist in faculty and academic issues when requested by the Department Chair and/or College Dean and will be required to promote a positive university image and ensure academic quality of the courses offered within the College. The individual may be required to visit classes and mentor adjunct faculty members as prescribed by Worldwide policies including conducting faculty evaluations There is flexibility on where the Assistant Professor’s home office is located.
