The Department of Computer Science (http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/csci) at Hunter College of The City University of New York invites applications for multiple positions at the rank of Lecturer and/or Doctoral Lecturer.

Located on the 68th Street campus on the upper east side of Manhattan, the diverse faculty of the Computer Science Department at Hunter works closely with students and each other in an open and collegial atmosphere. The Department is committed to building a diverse faculty and welcomes applications from women and underrepresented minorities. In addition, candidates are encouraged to discuss any experiences engaging with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students in their application materials. The successful candidate will be expected to teach, design curricula, and oversee adjuncts in multiple core undergraduate computer science courses as well as share responsibility for committee and other departmental assignments. The Department has recently begun a masters program and is about to launch a Computer Science K-12 Education Program jointly with Hunter’s School of Education.
Applications that demonstrate the ability to teach courses at the masters level and/or in computer science education are encouraged.

Successful candidates will also be able to work collaboratively and contribute to departmental strengths in teaching, and be able to lead efforts to broaden participation in computing both across disciplines, including, but not limited to communications, film and media, economics, geographical sciences, and the lab sciences, and to diverse populations across the campus. Applications that demonstrate experience in developing, teaching and coordinating large (100+ student) multi-section introductory courses, incorporating active learning into the classroom, and preparing students for competitive industry or research internships are particularly encouraged.

Hunter is committed to active engagement with students and the community at large, and embraces equity, inclusiveness, and global awareness in all dimensions of our work.
