2 Postdoctoral Scholar, Project/Research Scientist positions available in Optics and Machine Learning
The successful candidates will work with Dr. Vuong’s team to develop bio-inspired computational and optical strategies for real-time machine vision. Experience with optics (experimental and/or numerical, either commercial (COMSOL, DSCAT, Lumerical), or other homebuilt code is helpful. Our work fosters cross-disciplinary knowledge of optics, nanophotonics, computational statistics, numerical analysis, and applied mathematics.
Strong mathematical or programming skills are required and knowledge in the following areas is relevant: Python/Matlab, stochastic processes, computational statistics, compressive sensing, spectral methods, image processing, machine learning. Strong communication skills are essential. These positions are available for up to 3 years. The Ph.D. completed in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Statistics, Computational Physics, Computer Science or related discipline is required.
