A post-doctoral position in the laboratory of Stephanie Seidlits in the Department of Bioengineering at UCLA is available to start immediately. We are seeking candidates for a multidisciplinary project developing tissue-engineered models of glioblastoma tumors as platforms for personalized medicine that can predict patient outcomes within a clinically actionable time frame. The project will use biomaterial cultures and murine xenografts to characterize the contributions of cell-matrix interactions to treatment resistance using techniques including RNA sequencing, flow cytometry, bioluminescence imaging and protein phosphorylation assays. The Seidlits lab is a highly collaborative environment. The position will involve working with other researchers in the lab (e.g., graduate students) and collaborators at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Specific responsibilities will include planning, execution and analysis of research studies, preparation of data for papers and grants, and writing papers for publication.
Candidates who hold a PhD or equivalent degree in an appropriate area are welcome to apply. Candidates must have experience in mammalian cell culture. Experience in cancer biology, neuroscience, analysis of RNA sequencing data, biomaterials, tumor xenografts and/or computational biology is desired.
