Position available immediately for 1 Ph.D. Student with a background in experimental chemistry/chemical synthesis. Highly motivated students who have strong analytical and creative thinking skills and are keen on learning new topics and ideas are encouraged to apply.

MREL is a research group of Prof. Shalabh C. Maroo in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Syracuse University. The Group’s research interests are highly multidisciplinary, in the areas of multi-scale transport phenomenon, thermal management and bio-mechanical systems, with a focus on energy and water desalination and a strong emphasis on using the fundamentals of nano-science and nanotechnology to build efficient macro-scale mechanical systems. Research methods applied include theoretical analysis, computational simulations (molecular dynamics and CFD) and experimental techniques (including nano-metrology and nano-fabrication). Prof. Maroo’s educational background includes a B.Tech. from IIT Bombay, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Florida and postdoctoral experience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
