Post-Doctoral Position available on the Research Topic entitled:
“Regulation of Cell Division and Dimensions in Escherichia coli”
The research involves several projects, aimed at understanding the postulated Primary Signal transmitted from the Nucleoid to the Sacculus, particularly, from the nucleoid’s hyper-structure Replisome to the succulus’ Divisome.
The projects are conducted in cooperation with Biophysicists at Ben-Gurion University (BGU), namely Professors Mario Feingold, Itzhak Fishov, Oleg Krichevsky and Avinoam Rabinovitch, as well as with internationally-known scientists from the USA, PR China, the UK, and the Netherlands.
The projects are funded by the Israel-US Binational Science Foundation (BSF) and the Israel Science Foundation (ISF).
At BGU, we use optical microscopy combined with optical traps and Image processing, and exploit miscellaneous methods and techniques that include super-resolution, single cell optical tomography, computational analysis, as well as molecular biology and bacterial physiology, biochemistry and genetics.
