The Department of Biology at Tufts University is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach one section of a laboratory course in molecular biology (Bio 50- Experiments in Molecular Biology) for Spring 2025.  The course presents a series of laboratory problems using modern techniques of biotechnology. Site-directed mutagenesis, recombinant protein expression, qPCR, Western blot, and protein biochemistry are emphasized for teaching state-of-the-art laboratory skills and for reinforcing basic concepts of modern molecular biology. Requires completion of BIO 0013 (or equivalent introductory Biology lab course).  It normally has around 18 students enrolled.

This position counts as 1 course in salary and in contact time. The Instructor will teach one laboratory section (Wednesdays 6PM - 10PM) of the 2-section course, using the already-designed course content. One graduate TA is provided to assist with material preparation and assist during the laboratory section.
