Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) in “Applied Microelectronics”.
This position will be situated within the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). Founded in 1981, EEE stands as one of the pioneering schools at NTU. Rooted in a culture of excellence, EEE is celebrated for its rigorous academic standards and impactful research. To bolster advanced research endeavours, EEE is home to 13 research centres and state-of-the-art facilities, outfitted with cutting-edge equipment. In addition to these 13 centres, the school boasts over 50 laboratories, fostering both teaching and research initiatives within its dynamic academic community.
The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in applied microelectronics, encompassing various areas, such as analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, including integrated circuits and systems, memory circuits and computer architecture; micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) for sensing, energy harvesting, and robots; microelectronics characterization; advanced electronic materials and devices; quantum computing and in-memory computing; bio-electronics; wearables and point-of-care devices; and EDA tools and design methodologies. In addition to research, the successful candidate will actively participate in teaching and administrative duties at a level that aligns with the expectations of a world-class, research-intensive university.
Responsibilities
- Secure research funding to establish and expand research initiatives, while delivering high-quality research outcomes in the form of publications, invention disclosures, engineering designs, and other relevant outputs in the fields of microelectronics, as well as other disciplines associated with Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and related fields.
- Provide support, supervision, and mentorship to undergraduate students involved in project work and other academic endeavors, as well as postgraduate research students in their research projects and career development.
- Actively participate in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, College of Engineering, and University communities by engaging in activities related to research, teaching, enterprise, student experience, and widening participation.
Requirements
Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- A Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a relevant field
- At least four years of research experience in microelectronics
- Excellent track record in publishing high-impact papers in top journals and conferences
- Proven track records and expertise in applied microelectronics
- Preferable to have secured some research funding as principal investigator
- Preferable to have proven track records of teaching and mentoring
- Good interpersonal skills
- A mindset of continual growth and academic excellence
