The College of Computing is the only academic college in Michigan focused on computing and is currently experiencing hyper-growth—enrollments have increased by more than 50% over the last six years. The college has two departments, 37 full-time faculty members, 750 undergraduate students in six degree programs (Computer Science, Computer Network and System Administration, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, and Software Engineering) and more than 100 graduate students in four MS degree programs (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Health Informatics, and Mechatronics) and two PhD programs (Computer Science and Computational Science and Engineering).
An applicant must have earned a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics, or closely related discipline. Michigan Tech places a strong emphasis on balancing cutting-edge research with effective teaching. Candidates for these positions are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in independent research, excellence in teaching, the ability to contribute service to their department and profession, and a commitment to teaching and scholarship in a multicultural and inclusive environment.
