The Geomatics Department (Klamath Falls campus) is seeking applications for an academic full-time, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor faculty position. The Geomatics Department is part of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Management at Oregon Tech.

The Geomatics Department is a student-centric department in which faculty are responsible for teaching both their classes and any associated labs. The person in this position will also be responsible for providing and promoting GIS related curricula for other OIT departments (e.g., Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Management, Data Science, and others). They will collaborate with faculty from these and other departments to support ongoing and new geospatial-related undergraduate and graduate research. This person will engage with community/agency partners to develop applied learning experiences for students in GIS courses where applicable. If the need arises, they may receive up to 0.50 FTE release from teaching assignments in order to participate in externally funded projects.
The candidate will supervise the above activities and will lead ongoing efforts to create Online and Certificate GIS programs, both of which are in the approval process. They will participate in creation and delivery of a concurrent major in GIS and Environmental Sciences.
PhD degree in related field.
A strong background in Geospatial data acquisition, storage, and analysis is required.
