The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking to fill a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 16, 2022. We seek applicants with research specialization in Geometry-Analysis, broadly interpreted. The successful candidate will be able to interact with researchers in a wide range of disciplines; e.g. statistics, algebraic geometry, differential equations. For example, some of our statisticians are using tools from Riemannian geometry, our algebra group research centers on Lie theory, algebraic geometry, and applications, and our PDE group research lies at the interface of spectral theory, symplectic geometry, dynamical systems, and harmonic analysis.
The department has a PhD program and various MS programs, including a new MS program in Data Science. It has over 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students engaged in research in a wide variety of areas in mathematics and statistics.
