About This Department

Biomedical Engineering (BME) integrates engineering principles and biomedical knowledge to solve biomedical problems and develop innovative technologies for diseases diagnosis, treatment and prevention, thus improving the quality of human life. The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Nanjing University was established in October 2011. During the last 5 years, the department has grown rapidly, both in the number of people and the amount of research funding. It has made significant progress in undergraduate/graduate education, fundamental research, as well as clinical translation.
