The Analytical Chemistry Core Lab (ACL) is one of ten major user facilities available to researchers at KAUST and their worldwide collaborators. We provide advanced techniques and expertise for custom and routine chemical analysis of a variety of materials including polymers, catalysts, oil, sediments, water and biological tissues. Our mission includes the training of researchers to independently use our resources and also to engage in full service analytical projects and research collaborations.

Manage a small team to engage in routine and custom research-grade analyses
Oversee a comprehensive suite of state- of-the-art instruments for gas sorption, molecular spectroscopy and thermal analysis of materials
Provide training and technical support to researchers, students and staff on techniques and newly developed methods
Collaborate with KAUST researchers and external partners within approved scientific projects
Ensure safety and an excellent
PhD degree with at least 5 years of experience in chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science
Extensive theoretical and practical expertise on gas sorption techniques, especially focusing on high-pressure adsorption of pure and mixed gases
Knowledge of other solid phase characterization techniques such as thermal analysis and molecular spectroscopy
Ability to act as a professional consultant to faculty and external partners in the field of your expertise
Good supervisory and organizational skill and the ability to perform well in a multi-cultural collaborative environment
Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills to conduct simple repairs independently or remotely guided
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
