Center for Ecological and Environmental Sciences, Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), China invites applications for postdoctoral fellowship and tenure-track Assistant Professor in Ecology and Evolution. Appointment will begin Spring 2018.
Candidates should be experienced in research that focuses on biology, ecology, theoretical physics or related disciplines. Ideal applicants should have excellent skills in the implementation of the scientific method, a keen interest in evolution of cooperative behavior, game theory, cooperative behavior of humans, social insect, interspecies reciprocity, evolutionary roots of cooperation. We expect you to be a highly motivated and ambitious scientist with open-minded, flexible and enthusiastic personality and good collaboration skills. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally-funded research program, supervise graduate and undergraduate researchers. The postdoc’s duties will include research within the above-mentioned fields, including publications and scientific communication. Laboratory experimental studies in the laboratories or in the field might be required depends on the different projects.
The postdoc position is for 3 years (extension possible) and will be funded by a National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) research grant to Prof. Rui-Wu Wang (Northwestern Polytechnical University). While negotiation for salary supplement is possible, salary is currently ranged from 200,000 up to 400,000 RMB/year for postdoc fellowship. Salary is negotiable for assistant professor.
