Re: Post-doctoral Position in Protein Self-Assembly and Tooth Remineralization

Postdoctoral research position available at the University of California in San Francisco, School of Dentistry: We are seeking a full-time postdoctoral research fellow to work on a UCSF and NIH-funded study on enamel matrix assembly and biomineralization and the remineralization of collagen. The research in our lab in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences involves the in vitro synthesis of dental tissues and novel approaches for repair of caries lesions in dentin and enamel based on biomimetic principles. Techniques commonly applied in this project are nanoindentation, atomic force microscopy, electron microscopy, spectroscopy, and protein analysis methods. Expertise in nanomechanical property analysis and physical chemistry is desired. A PhD (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Sciences including Dental Materials or related field is required. Demonstrated excellence in biomaterials research is beneficial.
